SCS Climbing System

With PERI SCS, the loads from the fresh concrete pressure are transferred without formwork ties through the brackets into the climbing anchors of the previous concreting section.
For this 280 m long, arch-shaped dam crest with variable inclinations, the climbing brackets carry the heavy loads.
The use of large climbing units facilitates cost-effective construction of the massive lock components for the expansion of the Panama Canal.
The SCS 190 Climbing System in combination with VARIO GT 24 Girder Wall Formwork for a double-curved dam wall.
The transfer of heavy loads and the reduced number of anchor points with the SCS ensure an extremely high level of cost-effectiveness.
SCS can also be used for two-sided applications with formwork heights up to 6 m. This increases material utilization whilst simultaneously lowering the logistical time and effort.

Overview

PERI SCS serves as a load-bearing structure for supporting single-sided, non-tied or two-sided, anchored wall formwork. The loads from the fresh concrete pressure are transferred - without formwork ties - through the brackets into the climbing anchors of the previous concreting section. The SCS Climbing System is characterized by a high level of cost-effectiveness as the modular concept with multi-piece brackets facilitates optimum adaptation to suit project-specific requirements and geometries.

Large, craneable climbing units

due to the particularly high load-bearing capacity of the brackets with good utilization of the anchoring

Material-optimized solution

with the same formwork and components for the starter and subsequent standard cycles

Safe, horizontal working areas

through inclinable platforms which can easily be adapted to suit inclined structural elements

Technical Details

  • Support structure for supporting non-tied, single sided wall formwork
  • Crane-movable climbing units comprised of a platform unit and VARIO GT 24 Girder Wall Formwork
  • Optimized for a concreting height of 3.00 m (vertical applications) or 2.50 m (forward-inclined applications)
  • Addition of a finishing platform possible
  • Separate adaptable working platform for use on inclined structures; concreting and finishing platforms can be tilted by ±15° und ±30°
  • Starter Brace Frame with strongbacks, spindles and an additional starter waler for the first concreting section, with diagonal anchors fixed in the ground

Variations

SCS 190 Climbing Formwork

Bracket width approx. 1.90 m with adjusting unit for tilting the formwork. For two-sided use as primary formwork opposite the SCS 250

SCS 250 Climbing Formwork (carriage)

Bracket width approx. 2.50 m with formwork carriage (up to 63 cm retraction distance depending on the formwork system); also suitable for two-sided, anchored applications

SCS Starter Brace Frame

Consisting of strongbacks, spindles and an additional starter waler for transferring loads from the singlesided first concreting section into the bottom slab
