International projects
PERI solutions for metropolitan skylinesWhether complex geometries or surfaces to the highest quality standards: our results are evident in many successfully completed major projects around the globe.
This project shapes the Singapore skyline like no other: The three concave hotel buildings with a height of 195 m accommodate 2,600 rooms and suites. With the help of a comprehensive formwork and scaffolding solution, each of the 55 floors was constructed in just four days. For the core walls, a crane-independent PERI self-climbing solution was used. In addition, large-area slab tables ensured optimised working procedures and minimum crane times. With our continuous technical and logistical support, we were allowed to contribute to the success of the iconic building.
Only a few kilometres away from the South Korean capital Seoul, two new 140 m high luxury residential towers were built under strict safety requirements and within a tight construction time. PERI met the demand for efficient construction as well as low personnel costs with the new and innovative RCS MAX Rail Climbing System. A premiere, because RCS MAX was used here for the first time on South Korean soil.
The 170 meter high structure, which spirals elegantly upward, features slab geometries that change floor by floor. These revolve around the centrally-positioned, 44-story high-rise core with circular and angled exterior walls whose thickness tapers down to a third of the original 90 cm as the height increases. The use of a project-specific PERI formwork allowed equally safe and therefore fast working procedures. Thus, the standard floors could be constructed in a continuous weekly cycle despite the complicated building geometry. With a shell construction time of only 17 months, the originally planned schedule could be undercut by three months.
The Petronas Towers reach an impressive height of 452 m with a diameter of 50 m each. The PERI self-climbing technology used ensured rapid construction progress while maintaining particularly high safety standards. The climbing formwork was firmly connected to the building at all times so that safe climbing was possible even during the monsoon season. For the 23 m x 23 m building core, 14 external and 10 internal formwork units were used. These could be climbed independently of each other according to the required construction sequence.
PERI supported the rapid construction progress with customised engineering services, competent support during the entire construction phase and just-in-time deliveries of the required system solutions. The Young Towers are two residential high-rises with an elliptical layout in the centre of Tel Aviv. The construction of the 40 and 46 storey building complex, which is connected at the top and bottom, was accompanied by high quality requirements.
Designed as a high-rise residential building, the project consists of 54 floors and reaches a vertiginous height of 190 meters. The design by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava is based on a sculpture inspired by the rotating movement of the human body. The PERI self-climbing scaffold hydraulically moved the formwork of the circular high-rise core from floor to floor. The concrete distributor was thereby arranged in the center of the structure. The self-climbing units for the formwork and those of the concrete distributor climbed together.
For the realisation of this extraordinary, walkable artificial structure, PERI formed a project team consisting of climbing and formwork specialists. From start to finish, they supported the complex structural work with precisely coordinated execution solutions based on system equipment. This allowed the angled core geometry to be constructed within the tight dimensional tolerances and also saved 30 days of construction time.
With the Absolute World, the building floor plan rotates by more than 200 degree over 56 floors – with individual rotations between three and eight degrees from level to level. In order to be able to work safely at great heights and at the same time increase work productivity, the working area of the top three floors in each case was completely shielded with a PERI climbing protection panel. In order to be able to move the 30 climbing units independently of the crane and weather, the construction site worked with mobile PERI self-climbing devices and units.
56 Leonard Street is the name and address of an extraordinary skyscraper in Manhattan. The slender tower rises 250 meters into the air and features 145 exclusive apartments and 10 penthouses on almost 60 floors. More than 300 irregularly arranged balconies jut out from the glass facade, and in some places the floors are offset inward. This gives the individual floors the appearance of being stacked on top of or pushed into each other. For the construction, PERI engineers developed a project solution based on rentable modular systems. The climbing protection panel units provided all-round safety in combination with wide cantilevered slab tables.
The ambitious Barangaroo Redevelopment project has redefined Sydney's city center to the west on the 22 hectare site of the former container port. The high-rise complex is the centerpiece of the Barangaroo South subproject. Three office buildings with 39, 43 and 49 stories rise up to 217 meters. In order to be able to meet the tight schedule, PERI's Australian engineers developed a comprehensive formwork and safety concept. The use of mobile hydraulic units saved valuable crane time and thus accelerated the work processes on the large construction site.
