Easy to Use Slab Forming System and Engineering Service for Higher Efficiency on-site
The St. Marks Avenue Associates residential and community facility includes a 2 storey building with 2 floors of underground parking. The parking garage slabs and partly the second floor and third floor slabs of this project had to be constructed as 1''11“(0.6 m) thick waffle slabs with a 3 ft x 3 ft (0.9 x 0.9 m) grid spacing. The contractor needed a slab formwork system, which could handle both, the waffle slab at the parking garage levels and the flat slab at the typical floors, without switching systems in the middle of the project. SKYDECK Ply was used because it was able to handle all the tasks required.
The 7'' 4“ x 7'' 11“(2.25 x 1.5 m) grid achieves efficient support spacing but could randomly be changed if dictated by any obstacles. Even sloped areas such as the parking garage ramps used the SKYDECK Ply system.
