17.40 m high shoring scaffold for concrete roof edge beam
The site foremans experience was invaluable in establishing the requirements for the scaffold support to the heavy concrete roof edge beam at the Mexican Embassy. They were:
• A stiff support structure to mimize distortion of the roof edge beam during casting causing expensive repairs at the interface with the existing structure.
• Flexibility to realign the support structure without impacting on its structural integrity.
PERI UP was chosen over individual towers, as towers needed time consuming and costly bracing in tube and fittings to link them together where PERI UP used standard module ledgers and braces.
The high rigidity of the ledger connection allowed the scaffold structure to be erected quickly with minimal bracing. This enabled the formwork to be placed earlier than expected whilst the full pattern of bracing was completed.
