Variety of PERI Systems Provide Cost-Effective Solutions for Range of Applications
Saint John’s On The Lake is Milwaukee’s premier retirement community, with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the city’s skyline. The 244’ tall tower consists of 21 floors of senior living residences atop two levels of underground parking and first floor town center. VJS Construction Services looked to PERI to provide the full scope formwork for this high profile project.
The perimeter walls of the parking levels were formed with TRIO and the 72,000 ft2 slabs were formed with SKYDECK panelized slab formwork. VARIO was used for the core wall and three shear walls which extend for the full height of the building with self-climbing ACS (Automatic Climbing System) and RCS (Rail Climbing System) configured to pour the walls on the same day as the surrounding slab.
ACS P (P = platform) was used for the core with the internal and external formwork along with the placing boom raised in a single operation. The three shear walls were self-climbed using a combination of RCS G and ACS G brackets which support both sides of the formwork with over-wall gallows.
The typical level slabs were formed with a combination of UNIPORTAL perimeter tables and SKYDECK. These two systems used together gave the contractor many advantages. The perimeter tables are low in weight, quickly moved with the use of a lifting fork and provide maximum safety as no loose forming is performed at the edge of the slabs. SKYDECK on the interior is high productivity as the individual components are lightweight and easily handset.
