Full Scope Formwork for Bridge Construction Provided by PERI
Abel Construction selected PERI to provide the full scope formwork required for the Hanover Street bridge. TRIO was used for the footings, abutment and wing walls, pier stems and pier caps. The versatility of TRIO and ease of reconfiguration with the single BFD coupler made it the logical choice.
Pier caps were supported on VT 20K girders which the contractor preferred to decking supported on friction collars because it was much quicker to assemble. VARIOKIT bridge overhang units used for the cantilevered bridge deck have the advantage of being preassembled and set intact.
