On September 11, 2001, the U.S. came under attack when four commercial airliners were hijacked to strike high profile targets. The planned attack on Washington, D.C. was thwarted because of the decisive actions of the passengers and crew on one of the planes, Flight 93. Construction has begun on the Flight 93 Memorial at the site where the plane crashed in Shankesville, Pennsylvania.
Kinsley Construction chose PERI to provide the full scope formwork for the project. VARIO was configured to minimize the exposed ties on the Memorial Wall that features an architectural form liner. TRIO was selected for the Flight Path Wall and Visitor Shelter walls because of the ease of reconfiguration provided by the BFD coupler. The slabs of the Visitor Shelter will be built using MULTIFLEX shoring to accommodate the form liner.
