BB Centrum Offi ce Complex, Prague, Czech Republic
Flexible solutions for concrete frame and facade construction
The BB Centrum in Prague offers modern office facilities spread throughout several buildings and is conveniently situated for public transport. The buildings are set amongst landscaped surroundings with various parks, hotels and sports facilities and all exhibit different types of architecture. As part of the continuous expansion programme, a new building complex with 14,600 m² effective floor space was built for the main tenant, energy company ÈEZ. Seven upper floors and five basement levels for office accommodation and parking respectively are available.
Located directly on the main road, the design of the south-west side had to take into consideration a residential area situated opposite. The double-buckled facade improves not only sound reflection but also creates also a striking, architecturally-pleasing appearance.
For realizing the concrete frame as well as the finishing work, construction progress could be accelerated through the use of PERI system equipment. The straight and circular wall sections could be cost-effectively constructed with TRIO and RUNDFLEX respctively. As slab table system for the storey floors, pre-assembled table modules were used. These could be moved quickly and safely from floor to floor by means of the PERI transportation fork. With the PERI UP Rosett modular scaffold system, scaffold staircases and high shoring constructions were erected in the area of the cantilevers.
Such was the configuration of the twisting and angled glass facade that this required a facade scaffolding assembly which had to adapt to the form of the wall as accurately as possible. Using PERI UP, a continuous 72 cm wide scaffold assembly was erected which stretched along the entire length of 80 m and reached a height of 31 m. Internal scaffold brackets provided optimal adjustment possibilities across several Lagen up to a maximum cantilever of nearly 3 m. The required stability could be achieved through the high node rigidity of the PERI UP Rosett, an additional, externally-mounted 25 cm facing section as well as support provided by RSS push-pull props. Also to be taken into consideration was the fact that the inclined edges on the buckled areas at every point on the structure required the scaffold construction to be continuously adjusted.

Project Manager Concrete Frame
“The PERI systems are easy and fast to assemble. The table modules were delivered to the site already pre-assembled and could be used immediately. Moving the slab tables could also be carried out safely with the PERI transportation fork.”

Project Manager Facade Construction
“The PERI UP scaffolding adapted perfectly to the inclined form of the wall. This meant that safe and quick facade assembly was possible at every point.”
