Special architecture realized with standard systems

The Adolfo Ibáñez Foundation provided the funding for a new university building with auditoriums, lecture halls and a large atrium on the inside, and was completed in a period of only 16 months.

Realization of the unusual architecture with rounded walls of varying radii and twisting ramps for the generously-sized development of individual building levels was a challenging task. More than 300 different datum axes had to be taken into consideration. For a large part of the wall surfaces, architectural concrete quality was required. With the smooth and problem-free combination of RUNDFLEX and TRIO elements, coupled with BFD alignment couplers, the prescribed form was achieved in the most efficient way possible.

Adjustment of the ready-to-use RUNDFLEX elements was done on site with the help of radii templates. After only a few concreting cycles, construction crews were in a position was to achieve high productivity rates with the PERI systems. The entire project was divided into five different sections all of which were supported by PERI both with materials and planning services.

Wall sections with very large radii specifications were formed with time-saving polygonally-arranged TRIO elements. Trapezoidalshaped filler timbers were used on the element joints and connections were carried out by means of BFD alignment couplers.
